it's weird isn't it, all those negatives are a direct or indirect result of the climate, it's like which came first, the chicken or the egg

How mach degrees in the summer it can get? And in the winter?
For those who live there: Is it hard to live there because of the heat? Is the summer (July-August) is a extreme heat?

THANKS
Sounds like you will be living right on the coast (MDR). You will encounter no harsh weather there. None. Winter generally lasts several months, but again, it will not be extreme and you will simply deal with slightly cooler temps and some rain, if you're lucky. The last winter was a non-winter, but that's unusual.

I would check online for previous year's temps, but believe me, you will not require more than a jacket or fleece in the winter.

It will not get extremely hot where you live in the summer. The farther east you go, the hotter it will get. You will be fine, and at night in the summer, you might even get chilled, depending on your comfort level. At most, you might carry a light shirt or thin sweater with you during summer evenings out.

It can get cold/freezing in areas of the state and if we are lucky, we also get snow. But you will be nowhere near those areas.

Best of luck with your move, and welcome!

The coastal areas can get chilly at night or when it rains. Last winter was unusually mild, but there were nights when it it hit freezing.

The Desert areas can get much colder

Echoing others ... it's Mediterranean except the high country and far inland / deserts (which are Continental climate types). To get into micro climates suggest looking at the Sunset Western Garden Guide. The zone maps are outstanding.

Thank you guys anyway.
depends on where you live, many places in Los Angeles average low 70s high during winter, and many places (the coast) average low 50s lows in winter, 40s is the coldest it gets by the coast, so by no means cold.

but if you live in the deserts, by palmdale, victorville, or even palm springs winters a much cooler.

the warmest place in winter during the day in SoCal is the region around East LA, 71 F the coldest high of winter

and the warmest at night is Santa Monica and beach cities near, 51 F the coldest low of winter, but these stats are taken literally on the ocean (pier, if im not mistaken), so its warmer than this.

the coldest places are in the mountains, followed by the high desert, then low desert.
