I wonder if the people waiting in line at Dunkin Donuts are the same people who will be waiting in line for the iPhone 6? I'd rather watch grass grow.

I support our local donut shops. One in particular is very good:

Classic Doughnuts & Croissants - Sherman Oaks - Sherman Oaks, CA | Yelp

There's a Starbucks practically next door, and yet in the mornings Classic Donuts is constantly busy. It's also a great place to people watch if you can get a table; an interesting cross section from all walks of life seem to pass through daily. Just make sure you have cash; no credit cards accepted.

I could never understand why Krispy Kreme donuts were so popular. I always thought they were disgusting.

That is one of the few things I do like about LA is that there's something for everyone.

The place that sells steaks, hot links, burgers, and fried chicken with a side of pork chops can peacefully and profitably coexist with the place next door that sells strictly vegan wraps and bowls-which is also profitable.

It's a problem , but it's a free country or supposed to be . People should have the right to choose weather or not they want a donut or a kale salad or whatever it is .

In LA healthy food is popular , but so is " unhealthy food"

DD used to be here years ago. I don't remember when they left, and I don't remember anything special about them.

My local "mom and pop" doughnut shop makes better doughnuts than the chain ones I know of.

What about Mr. Donut? I guess that is only in Japan.

DD isn't great for anyone watching their waistline. It is quite common over on the other side of the country, where I just moved after spending 5 years in SoCal.

Then I have a simple solution for you. Stop eating them!

Dunkin Donuts is an overrated Donut Shop that East Coasters love. Im more of a Winchells or Krispy Cremes guy.

Krispy Kreme's is horrible. One of the worst doughnut chains, IMO.

I think that it's nostalgia. I remember that it was the only chain donut store in my hometown. It disappeared, not sure when. I'd love to taste one again.
