That's really unfortunate that you're having a bad experience. I would try to break the lease...

So I'm gonna ask again, just to be clear, is the area im living in safer? Euclid St between Santa Monica blvd and Broadway? I feel like that's right around the corner from where pp is having issues

A lot safer. It's not that far away from where that poster is having issues (which would be around Cloverfield and Pico) but quite different.

It's quite close geographically, but once you cross the freeway you are in quite a different area and it is a lot safer. More condos and townhouses, wider streets, fewer apartment buildings. Plus there is a lot of commercial activity along SM Blvd, and UCLA-SM Hospital and the associated medical clinics and practices are just a couple of blocks away on the other side of SM Blvd, so the tone of the area is just different. If anything I'd probably be more concerned about traffic noise than safety, but I would feel no hesitation to live around there if you have a place that suits your needs.

The Pico Neighborhood Association claims Pico starts south of Santa Monica Blvd: About |

I've also heard south of Broadway, south of Colorado, and south of the 10.

Part of the confusion is because the Pico neighborhood did extend north of the 10, before there was a 10. Activists to this day complain that the Pico neighborhood was severed by the 10. Pico used to be heavily black, and some people think the 10 was a way to create an all-white Santa Monica.

Here's a study by UCLA with a map (page 19) that defines the Pico neighborhood as south of Santa Monica Blvd, and south of Colorado: http://164.67.121.27/files/Lewis_Cen...6RaceInteg.pdf

From the study:
"As one black resident exclaimed in a 1964 Santa Monica Evening Outlook article on the freeway construction:
Santa Monica wants to make this a place for rich whites. They want to make it a resort town. They are trying to move the Negroes and the Mexicans out of here…why have they taken all of our property away for the freeway and why are they leaving some just for industrial use? (Santa Monica Evening Outlook1964: 9A)
With the help of civil rights groups such as the NAACP and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, some residents protested the housing demolition. As activist Vabel Reed recalled, ‘We tried to stop [the freeway]. Some of us stood in front of the bulldozer to stop it. We walked. We fought. We picketed. They overwhelmed us’ (qtd in Hill-Holtzman 1994: J16). Jackie, a longtime African American homeowner in the eastern part of the Pico neighborhood, explained that people contested the freeway siting, but this conflicted with Santa Monica business interests’ desire to have a conduit to the area from Los Angeles."

Public High School was of concern that's why we decided on Santa Monica to be able to be in the district to attend Santa Monica High school.
Now, I'm even embarrassed to have anyone come over. I'm very open minded but there is a limit.
