Been saving for my move still, and unfortunately it's postponed till Feb-April of 2015. Better safe than sorry!

I can't wait though! I'm constantly thinking of beaches and hiking and the outdoors and things to do. I have no outlet for it other reading LA newspapers. Arghhh I can't wait! Any way to get my LA fix until I visit for my scout trip?

You will like the weather since CA has far, far less humidity than TX.
If you're bored there are interesting things you can watch if you type into your search bar:
  • Newport boardwalk 4th of july
  • Knott's Berry Farm supreme scream
  • Magic Mountain batman the ride

Practice skateboarding so you can hit spring snowboarding in case we ever break out of this drought.

Seriously, you need a reality check. LA just may not be the utopia you are fantasizing about. Been there, done that!

Seems to be a lot of differing opinion on this, but I think it really depends on where you grew up and were you are coming from...

In my developed, but small town, everyone who I know who has been to LA for either short stays or extended stays, have said it is nothing short of "Awesome". Everyone who I've known who grew up there (about 5 people) and who no longer live there, all say they wish so badly they could go back, simply because "there's nothing to do in this **** town".... and my town isn't even really that bad compared to some places, I imagine this is not an isolated case.

A big factor may also be whether or not you have a lot of money to spend, or whether or not you will be having to drive during peak traffic hours, or whether or not there is a shortage of people in your home town... In my case I can never find cool things to spend my money on, and there's just such a shortage of people to meet around here, as well as a ridiculous shortage on diversity.

OP: Where are you moving from?

Please bring some rain with you as we've been nearly bone dry for two years. The landscape is really parched...more so than usual.
