I am a 25 year old Male Young Professional moving to Santa Monica. Does anyone have recommendations on living in either North of Wilshire or near Main Street?

I've looked at a few apartments North of Wilshire and am considering renting in Ocean Park due to its proximity to the bars on Main Street. Is it worth it to try and rent in south Santa Monica? Living North of Wilshire and cabbing/walking to Main doesn't seem that bad to me, but I wanted some feedback.

In my opinion: While Main Street has a good social scene, I like the cleanliness of north SM and the lack of homeless people. I currently live in Brentwood and find it pretty boring.

Thank you!!

This is assuming you can afford the very high rents of SM.

Assuming you can, just do "North of Wilshire" - it is nicer and better located. Main St is an easy bus ride or cab ride away. You're also close to the 3rd St Promenade/Downtown SM bars.
