Most of the commercial buildings outside downtown are like tiny cafes and luxury car dealerships. I see very few people walking along the residential streets.
The neighborhood bordered by Santa Monica and Wilshire right before they intersect where the fancy steakhouses, Rodeo shops, and bougie lounges are located. Then there's plenty of regular restaurants on Beverly Drive south of Wilshire, also very walkable. If this guy can afford 6 - 8K in rent for 8 months, I'm sure he can afford that area of BH. That's about as walkable as it gets in BH. I suggested it because I have a feeling the OP is looking for the stereotypical glamor you see in movies and TV and that is DTBH to a tee. Santa Monica is a very beachy city and he didn't seem to be looking for that.

Beverly Hills is mostly a middle aged to older type of place. And it seems like Echo Park or Silverlake doesnt fit you. Id go with West Hollywood. Its full of young singles and its in a central location.

He can meet a cougar in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica. That would take care of the social life.

There's plenty of young people in BH. Though it is geared for old folks around the Rodeo area. S Beverly Dr area is pretty happening with a younger mix. There are a ton of middle class apartments in that area. Though it won't match a WeHo, Hollywood, Santa Monica crowd, that's for sure.

I agree somewhat but I don't think any of that sort of women will think he's cool with his meagre $6-8K condo rental in Beverly Hills or Brentwood.
