Just wondering. With all the abusive taxes, congestion, stagnating growth, seems like more people are going than coming.

If that were true, apartments and houses would be inexpensive.

I think that's mainly because of the attraction of the industry. Young people come here for college and to start a career. Once they settle down, get married, and have children, many move for greener pastures.

From personal experience, I've seen that happen even more often in NY than LA.

I am married with an elementary aged child and I am moving back after 10 years. I have a great career opportunity waiting in Los Angeles. It was/is a tough decision, giving up my nice low COL, large home, nice neighborhood and all, but I will be able to have a similar lifestyle in L.A. in the near future.....except getting rid of the traffic

I always said if money isn't an issue, I would (as most people) move back/stay in L.A.

Not everyone can afford a 3 million dollar+ home in pacific palisades to raise their school children.

You're describing every major city. Raising kids and living a quiet life don't mesh with city living.

Outside of L.A., everyone in every other city in America has that lifestyle.

L.A. is the only city that all people are not rich and it should be ashamed of itself because most people have to live in the 99 percent, how dare it

I'm moving back too - it won't be for 2 years though (waiting on my daughter to finish HS).

I lived on 250 acres for 15 years with my ex-husband - 2 houses, a private lake, horse barns, trails, etc. I used to joke that that property isn't worth a condo in Los Angeles. I divorced 18 months ago and am in a neighborhood in a small town, in a quaint, paid-for home...there was no reason to leave LA, but to be on that 250 acres. Now that I don't have it, I'm going home.
