Oh yeah, and another vote for Vito's, which is more of a NY style. Masa of Echo Park or Hollywood Pies for Chicago style.

Ok, so anyone here from the NY/NJ area think these pizza places are as good as the east? I had two boots pizza in Echo park after a show and it was OK. Now I'm not one of those east coast pizza snobs, even crap pizza is still good pizza.

When I was in SF I had pizza 3 times. One was "bad", another was decent and the third was legitimately good.

When I first moved to LA, I went on a pizza hunt. I had like 7 pizzas in 9 days. I already mentioned Mother Dough, 800, and Settebello. Those are my top 3 and the ones I always go back to. Mother Dough has the best neapolitan pizza I've ever had, Settebello is also pretty authentic, and 800 has an amazing price-to-quality ratio.

I never got the chance to try out Mozza. But I also liked The Luggage Room and Wildcraft. But definitely check out Mother Dough. However, it also depends what kind of pizza you are looking to try. When I eat pizza in new places, I don't go looking for NY slices or anything like that. Neapolitan pizza is where it's at.

I haven't tried Mother Dough, 800 or Settebello but want to sometime soon.

Luggage Room is really good too, they have that 'endless sangria too' , plus Stone Tasting room just across the way.

They just opened a Neapolitan pizza place in the valley, the first of its kind in the valley apparently. I mentioned it earlier in the thread.

That place in the Valley does look interesting.

Pizzeria Mozza is number one for me. Village Pizzeria in Larchmont is also great.

Responding to jm1982, Mother Dough and Settebello are both pretty solid. Good crust at both places.

Also, there is a new place called Flame Pizzeria in Reseda whose chef used to cook for stars like Tom Cruise. Definitely want to try.

In terms of quick service pizza, Blaze Pizza gets the top spot.
