I just watched the Entourage movie and I don't know what they did but they made LA look WAY better than it is. Granted it's not hard, the nicest parts of the city are great but it still seemed like it was touched up. I've never been to a place in LA that has all super models. Every car was a Ferrari, not just a Beamer but a Bentley or Ferrari. I've been to half the places they filmed at and I never remembered them looking that fancy. It was like watching a live action catalogue of luxury goods and settings. All polished to look the best and sell a lifestyle. Again I knew what I was getting into but I surprised by how blatant it was.

This must be what people out in the Midwest think of when they think of LA. LOL. Hollywood is always portrayed as West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Rodeo and Robertson Blvd.

I do have to give to the cinematographers for making LA look so nice.

Now what's the other side of the coin? End of Watch? Gangbanger movies? LA needs better more balanced portrayals of the city.

I thought 'Magnolia' and 'Punch Drunk Love' were pretty balanced and accurate portrayals as far as scenery.

Movies and TV shows set in Los Angeles frequently edit footage to make the city look worse. The most recent example being 'Fear The Walking Dead' which exaggerates the smog and uses a different filter for wide shots than narrow shots to make the periphery seem more dour.
Besides, the Entourage series also made Los Angeles out to be something it isn't. It's a stupid franchise for stupid people.

I also agree with this. A lot of movies make LA to seem like it's a giant favela like in Brazil. You'd think there are gangs on every corner.

That's a good mall for people watching in general. Rich people and insanely weird people, commingling in hilarious ways.

Been to an employment agency there and yes, very hot women but they didn't film there they filmed at random cafes in miracle mile. And they were all dressed scantly. Creating the image of scantly clad models are over LA was funny to watch.
