Call me weird but I've always fantasized about living out of my car which I guesstimate would cut my expenses by 80-90% compared to living in an apartment.

Expenses:

Lodging: $0 (Car is paid off)
Parking: Free street parking, Mall parking lot, etc.
Food: $3/daily (Fast Food Dollar Menu)
Water: $1.25/weekly (25 cents per gallon from those water dispensers)
Cell phone: $35/month
Entertainment: Surfing web and watching movies on cell phone
Mailbox: USPS PO BOX ($35/year?)
Shower/Restroom: FREE (Gas stations/Fast Food)
Gas: Won't drive much other than to get food, gym, mail, etc. $20/month

SO I figure it would cost about $153/month and $1,836/year.

Does this sound about right or am I missing something?

I'll rent the backseat of your car for $20 a week. You can have the front.

No can do.

Enough room for one as it's a compact.

Will you be working or just hanging out in a car watching movies?

Laundry
Clothes/shoes, at some point
Toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc.) and medication (analgesics for your aching back since you are sleeping in a compact car)
Gym membership
Car maintenance and registration
Healthcare (which you will probably need if you attempt to subsist on $3/day of fast food for any length of time)

you can cut your expenses even way more if you don't mind a place like skid row etc.

Yeah, you're right, you won't need clothes in that case...just stay in the car and wrap yourself in a towel.
