So Metro annouced that the Regional connector will not be complete by 2020 as promised. Theres talk about mid 2021 now. It's a ridiculously long wait for just 3 underground stations. Same with the Purple Line. This isn't an LA problem. The whole United States is slow on infustructue.

People stopped caring about infrastructure so politicians started gutting it's funding. It's gotten to the point where we can't even maintain the infrastructure we already have. Is it really a surprise that we can't handle expanding or updating our infrastructure?

A lot of interweb people keep saying that more funding should be put into the Purple Line extension project instead of new light rail lines so that Westside subway could be built faster... but I have my doubts that infusing more money would really speed things up any.

Doesn't surprise me that the Metro Board consists of Mayor Farcetti and all 5 County Supervisors.

Compared to here in the Bay Area, LA's rail development is on steroids.

LA accomplished more in 20 years than we did in 60.

I think it's the opposite. The BART at least takes you places that you want to go but not the LA metro. It's not even connecting properly. I've tried both. I gave up with the LA's public transportation.

No I didn't say it's great but at least there are parking spaces near the BART. Not the same for Southern Cal or LA.

Does seem like a very long time to build such a short and regionally important rail line. Really wish they could fast track this project.....
