Hey guys,

I currently live in Indiana and its been a plan of mine for a long time to move to California, I am finishing up school here for IT Certifications and I still have a bit of time to save before I can be able to move out there. But I am curious if it would be a good idea for me to go to community college (the big one here is Ivy Tech) pursue a Computer Information Technology, or Computer Science degree to further expand my education here, or wait until I am in California and attend a community college there. My end goal would be to attend a California university of some kind. But my fear is if I decide to get my community college education here, when I move to California, my degree would not be accepted from Universities because its from a community college in Indy. Its regionally accredited so I don't think it would a huge concern, but I would hate to spend the time working towards that degree to have a university turn me down because it was not a Cali community college or they do not recognize the school I went to in Indy.

Keep in mind that you would need to establish California residency for at least 1 year or else pay the high out-of-state tuition rate. Here's info:

Community colleges (for San Francisco but all are the same): https://www.ccsf.edu/en/student-serv...-and-fees.html

State colleges (for Channel Islands but all the same): California Residency FAQs - Admissions & Costs - CSU Channel Islands

Don't see any problem with acceptance of an Indiana degree, but admission to some colleges is competitive regardless.
