The closure of the 101 for the 6th street bridge remodel plus the Chinese New Years event beginning, caused the perfect combination of traffic jams and pedestrain activity.

Those of you who were around Boyle Heights today know what i'm talking about. It just felt more busy than usual.

My theory is, alot of the commuters coming east from the 10,60 and South 5, use the 101 to access the westside. I mean sure they can go straight on the 10 but Culver City and LSW (Lower South Wilshire) isn't exactly urban until you reach the 405 and beyond.

Oh!, and also the Wilshire Grand tower from the eastside looks proportionally as tall in size as the Aon Tower!

You'd be surprised if you just look around. Even by Maywood and Bell Garden i saw along of foot activity and people on bikes. The houses and walking distance to strip mall retail.

Okay fine, my title could have been better phrased, "Today, East LA felt comparable to parts of the Westside due to infustracture closures".
