It's not only ex-offenders who are being hired, and 55% is the recidivism rate when we do nothing to help them reintegrate into society. In states where parolees are required to participate in job training, educational programs or find and keep a job the recidivism rate is as low as 20-30% Nevada has a program called "Going Home Prepared" where a parole plan is developed prior to release for each inmate, they need a verifiable address or they go to a half-way house, they are tested for education level and job skills and placed in appropriate programs upon release. What's interesting is that Counties in California copied many aspects of that in developing their AB109 offender management program.

I have faith that, all of this far-left insanity will finally catch up to these neanderthals in the coming elections. Its just gotten way too out of control.

LA: Just a Matter of Time before No One is Safe

On May 27, Garcetti spoke at a Press Conference in South Central about the debt of gratitude Angeleno’s should be paying prisoners. “When people have paid their debt to society, our debt of gratitude should be, not just thanking them for serving that time but allowing them a pathway back in,” he said.

What? Garcetti should be thanking taxpayers for shelling out more than $47,000 per year to incarcerate each inmate who violated the rights on an innocent person in the commission of a crime. Common sense dictates that victims of violent crimes deserve “at least” some of the respect Garcetti offers to parolees -- something he neglected to offer!

Perfect timing for such a stupid statement from the Mayor of Los Angeles -- as the City cries for more police officers to patrol the streets of Los Angeles and Brown wants voters to let even more dangerous, violent felons out of prison.
Welcome to the way so-called progressives (regressives) think. Let me let you in on a little secret. In the crime equation, you and I may see a victim and a perpetrator. But to regressives, they see a victim (the actual victim) and another victim (the perpetrator). The criminal (victim) did what he (or she) did due to real (but grossly exagerated) or imagined justifiying factors. Change the way you think about criminals and it will be clear to you (or you will see how crazy they are).

"Our debt of gratitude" to felons being released? Mayor Garcetti needs to be recalled and booted out of his high mayor seat. He is mentally ill.

Send a felon a thank you card...

Quote:
A criminal may have wronged you in the past. Maybe you were stabbed. Perhaps you were robbed or raped, and the person who did it went to jail. They performed their service and now you owe them a debt of gratitude. You can create a personal "Thank You" card for your felon by clicking here.

Once you've finished your card, send it to mayor.garcetti@lacity.org. You don't even need to be a victim to show your appreciation. Show the mayor how much he has inspired you! Spread his message!

Create your card and send it to the Mayor now!

Other states like NY do the same thing. If they are working they are substantially less likely to get back into trouble.
