Going through a company guarantees you pay more for things you don't get. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Craigslist if you aren't a complete idiot who can't read people and don't know how to check them out. Just because someone is with a company is no guarantee that they are any good.

But if your pit bull attacks someone or kills someone's chihuahua while some stranger is walking it then you get sued for $20k+ in damages and medical bills. Of course that can happen when your walking the dog but how do you know a stranger will know how to handle a dog like that in that situation or your dog gets nervous because a stranger is walking it. If you have a dog that can kill people having insurance isnt a waste of money

Sorry OP, I just don't get it. I'd dump that dog like a bad habit. Giving you way too many headaches in life. So not worth it.

But it's such a sweet dog who would never hurt a fly!

Well I hope you love living in a dump or paying out the rear if you decide to keep the dog.

Pit bulls are great dogs, they are just owned by a lot of stupid people who corrupt them. Sadly, these cool dogs have a very, very bad reputation.

I used to work for an apartment management company that banned pit bulls. We also had German shepherd and bulldogs on the hit list.

People with dogs NEED a home, and someone round the clock to care for them. It's only fair to the animal. If you live in an apartment, have a cat, or a small dog, big dogs deserve and need space.

Numbers don't lie. Lions are beautiful animals too but that doesn't make them good pets

34 U.S. dog bite-related fatalities occurred in 2015. Despite being regulated in Military Housing areas and over 700 U.S. cities, pit bulls contributed to 82% (28) of these deaths. Pit bulls make up about 6.6% of the total U.S. dog population.2
Together, pit bulls (28) and rottweilers (3), the second most lethal dog breed, accounted for 91% of the total recorded deaths in 2015. This same combination also accounted for 76% of all fatal attacks during the 11-year period of 2005 to 2015.
The breakdown between these two breeds is substantial over this 11-year period. From 2005 to 2015, pit bulls killed 232 Americans, about one citizen every 17 days, versus rottweilers, which killed 41, about one citizen every 98 days.
In the year of 2015, the combination of pit bulls (28), their close cousins, American bulldogs (2), and rottweilers (3) contributed to 97% (33) of all dog bite-related fatalities. Both American bulldog fatalities occurred in Miami-Dade County, Florida.
