One of these articles again...UGH! Of course it's written by a UK publication (tabloid?) so not exactly in touch.

It's funny how they throw in the typical old tired stereotypes and slams against L.A yet still claim it to be the new cool hotspot for artists priced out by the rich "tech bros" in the Bay Area.

It's funny these idiots don't realize that L.A has had a 'bohemian ' or artist scene for decades.
Really ignorant!

Lot's of articles like this about 'artists' priced out of NYC moving to L.A too.

The Guardian has about as much journalistic integrity and worth as Baghdad Bob.

Sadly they get a lot of readers though and many people believe whatever they read .

But the overall point is correct. Creatives are getting priced out of here and moving to LA. I'm more of a techie and even I contemplate it now and again. Of course I have a more unique situation in that I used to be in LA and stupidly left, then life happened, etc.

SF has been losing it's bohemian edge for decades. It's all gone now and really just getting by on legacy. Bohemians have left the Coastal metros in droves, the past few years.

They're a bit late on this, as LA is more expensive than any US city EXCEPT SF.
The exact same process is going on here.
Now if they talked about artists moving to the Inland Empire or Vegas, OTOH...

So I was ahead of the trend

Then again, I'm an L.A. native. If not for that I wouldn't have come back, even though in many ways it's a liability.

Creatives have been getting priced out of Los Angeles almost as long as they've been getting priced out of San Francisco

Maybe they should all move to Sedona.

Yeah true.

It seems like if they are making the effort to move..why not just move to a city that is actually affordable..but also has an arts scene..

The Grauniad's known for its errors.
