OK, don\'t laugh but I think I might have a chance to work in the business but until I get noticed, I\'m hoping to find a cheap apt in LA near the beach. ANy suggestions for under $550/month?

they have some pretty nice bus stops around the beach, just might have to fight off some hobos.

Joking from the other commentators aside, $500 for an apartment near the beach or frankly anywhere in Los Angeles is just not realistic. I think $700-800 is as cheap as you're going to get, and you'd be talking about living in a slum.

700 to 800 is splitting rent with a roommate.

You won't find anyplace near the beach for 550 a month on your own.

You may be able to find a room in someone's house or converted garage for rent for that amount.

Please don't come here to clog our streets and freeways.

Thank you for your consideration.

Seriously, is this thread a joke? (turned into one like it or not)

You could do a Studio apt in Portland, OR for that much...I'll warn you the commute might get tiresome.
