Do we have any politically incorrect statues in this city? I'm just curious, for no particular reason at all. Peace out.

Any statues dedicated to old dead Kekistanis (hereinafter known as "Keks") should be removed irrespective of any accomplishments or significance such Keks might once have had.

The Bruce Lee statue in Chinatown can stay.

The Four Ladies of Hollywood would and should by all rights be ok, but because they are Keks (or appear to be Keks or have appropriated Kekness), we have a problem.

The statue of George Washington in the Civic Center needs to go.

The statue of Amelia Earhart in NoHo would and should be ok, but because she was Kek, we have a problem.

Hollywood Forever's been pressured into taking down their Confederate monument. Hollywood Forever Cemetery To Remove Monument To Confederate Soldiers: LAist

Not so sure about other statues, but there are some schools that have rather inconvenient names. E.g. those named after David Starr Jordan or D.W. Griffith.

That naked David Kek in Forest Lawn - gotta go.

Oh and the USC Spartan statue.

There is a statue pf Felipe de Neve, the founder of Los Angeles, who was himself a Californio/Mexican. Because he was not indigenous to Alta California, and indigenous people were adversely impacted, it should be removed.

No, I don't think Angelenos spent too much time romanticizing the civil war

There is the Fort Moore Pioneer Memorial which honors the Mormon Battalion for the actions during the Mexican American War. seeing how the Ken Burns documentary on The Civil War probably couldn't be aired today given the hard social/political turn on that issue the same could happen to the "wrong" side of Mexican American War in the future.

Are there any statues of Earl Warren, Culbert Olson, or Fletcher Bowron? All of whom played a major role in Japanese internment. (Warren might get a pass because of his support of the civil rights movement as governor and on the SCOTUS, which in large part came from guilt over his role as the architect of internment.) I read awhile back that a statue of Scoop Jackson in Seattle was taken down because of his support of internment, so the same thing could happen to statues of California politicians who were heavily involved in internment.

For that matter, is it possible that FDR's role in internment might lead to his statues and monuments coming down? (Not to mention his refusal to let all but a few Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi Germany in, and the 1934 Housing Act which promoted redlining, steering, and other forms of housing discrimination).
