The corruption is outstanding . Our city is being sold to the highest bidder ( "donor")
$32 MILLION from special interests..
--

"Several KPCC listeners and readers expressed frustration and anger this week after learning of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti's record-setting fundraising for favored causes from companies and other donors, some of which do business with the city"

"As KPCC found in an investigation published Wednesday, the mayor set a new city record using a fundraising vehicle called "behested payments." The sum of the payments, nearly $32 million since Garcetti was elected mayor in 2013, "

"It couldn’t be more quid pro quo, I think, if it tried, even though it technically maybe isn't," he said, of Garcetti's behested payments. "It does alarm me, and I think it poses a lot of really great questions that I would love to hear the mayor answer directly.""

That's Chicago type ****. Worse than anything Villaraigosa ever did. You'd have to go back to the '40s to find anything that blatantly corrupt in City Hall as this.

It just gets better and better with this despicable scumbag, eh?

Since the money is intended for charitable donations that Mayor Crookcetti supports, its alleged by dear old Eric that the donations are not political in nature, but then one reads this paragraph from the companion article:

"Reviewing Garcetti’s reports of behested payments, city contracts and other government documents, KPCC found at least two dozen donors also had business before the city [...]"

Infographic: 'A tricky area of philanthropy': LA mayor solicits millions for his favored causes | 89.3 KPCC

And we're to believe our dear Mayor Soft Serve isn't getting any kickbacks at all from the charities, are we? Please, don't give me a laugh-induced heart attack...

I'd really want to know what he's gotten from China's richest man the head of Wanda Group .

How much does one have to spend to be an "exceptional friend"

Since Wang Jianlin is not only Asia's richest man but is in China's government (holding a position analogous to Mitch McConnell in the US), this adds a whole new dimension.

This behavior prior to Citizens United was clearly against the law. While nowadays it's legal on a federal level it's still highly unethical.

Come on everyone leave the mayor alone, he's doing a great job. Crime is at an all time low, homelessness is nearly non-existent and the illegal immigration issue is under comtrol.
