Do you agree with the Mayor that anyone that wants to live in L.A deserves housing they can afford?

---
The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles is preparing to reopen a Section 8 waiting list lottery for the first time in more than a decade and expects more than 600,000 to apply for the rental subsidy program, it was announced Monday.

"Angelenos deserve housing they can afford, no matter their income,'' Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti said. "People who are eligible should apply for the Section 8 rental subsidy program -- and we'll keep fighting to build more affordable housing that gives every family the opportunity to find safe, stable places to live.''

The Housing Authority will use a computer-randomized system to select up to 20,000 applicants for placement on the Section 8 waiting list.

Why now, after more than a decade? Is an election coming up or something? "Angelenos deserve housing they can afford, no matter their income." Translation: poor people deserve housing they can not afford, on taxpayers' dime.

I'm thinking of becoming poor. Certainly beats being middle class.

Poor yields the same financial results as lower middle class minus the work.

Gov Jerry Brown also just signed 15 housing bills ( yes 15) that are intended to "help the affordability crisis"

So the middle class with college degrees and full time jobs are getting priced out of L.A and have to move , but we need to house the homeless right in L.A city limits for top dollar ..

---

"“Everyone deserves to live in a place they can afford. And for tens of thousands of Angelenos, Section 8 can mean the difference between sleeping in safe homes at night and suffering in desperation on the street,” said Mayor Garcetti. “L.A. is making unprecedented investments in housing and services, because the homelessness crisis demands that we put every possible dollar to work. Washington should meet the urgency of this crisis and increase the number of people who can get help through Section 8.”"

Garcetti already encouraging poor 'immigrants' to come in from Mexico , why not Africa?
We should be flying folks in from Ethiopia and Congo. Don't they deserve to live in L.A too? Shouldn't it be equal opportunity?

Of course we need taxpayer subsidized housing! How else will my Westside neighbors have access to a low cost labor pool which they can work to the bone? It's demeaning for a woman to tend to her own kids or housework, or for a man to do his own home repair or yardwork -- what is this, the 1950's?! We're progressive now, so get in your mini-SUV, go to work in a glass building, and push paper all day so you can one day die knowing you once had a "career".

America!
