With the heart of entertainment in SoCal, is anyone shocked by the allegations, casting couch and deviants in Hollywood and the industry?

Not surprised by the fact that it exists. Surprised about certain specific people being alleged tho.

Nope. Not surprising in the least. I hope the current spotlight on it leads to some real and lasting changes.

Not surprised at all. As far as I know the term casting couch has been around since the silent movie days.

No, it's old news. Marilyn Monroe made it very clear. Corey Feldman spoke out years ago about paedophilia. It's not even just the entertainment industry, it's in politics, the church (as we know), sports and more.

Not surprising.

I doubt anything will improve much in the long run, although there'll be a new group of folks running the industry. After all The Art of War does talk about getting your enemies to destroy each other and then moving in for the kill.

I'm a little surprised by how nasty and entrenched it is not only in Hollywood but in all industries. I'm surprised how gross many men are, to be honest. Damn pigs.

No, it has been common for decades.

But people still worship the actors.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This is a universal problem in every aspect of life.

Some of the stories are gross or weird, like these guys asking women to watch them take a shower among others...but some sound like maybe clumsy attempts at courtship , or extremely complimentary flirting that a
woman who has been around would laugh off or shut down, but a sensitive woman would flip out at. The culprits seems to be guys who are gay (SPacey), obese (Toback), really short (Hoffman) or just bad looking altogether (Weinstein). I'm noticing the names coming down the pike don't consist of Pitt, Clooney, Denzel, or Chris Evans.

I will admit tho, its hard for me to feel too much sympathy b/c I've been to some parties, quite a few meet and greets and some of the actresses literally throw themselves at men who they think can help them, even when the guy is clearly not interested.

In any case, all of these scandals have been a wake up call for many men in all sectors. I will not even tell a woman at work I like her shoes or new hairstyle anymore unless I have some kind of electronic proof of them saying something descriptive about me. Not worth the trouble of them bringing it up later and I gotta apologize or explain myself.
