In recent times I cannot believe how often the pedestrian crossing light has changed in my favor yet I've had to wait for a car to finish driving through the crosswalk because although the driver received a yellow light well in advance, instead of slowing down and preparing to stop the driver has instead chosen to simply enter the intersection on a red. In the past this was a somewhat rare occurrence, though now it seems to be a standard practice of L.A. drivers. I'm not certain if its mostly due to an influx of New Yorkers, but whatever the case, simply crossing the street at an allegedly controlled intersection these days is getting to be unnecessarily risky. If the trend continues, a few years from now the L.A. City Council will need to propose mandatory helmets for pedestrians.

It's millenials. They believe that traffic laws are for the have-nots and don't apply to their special snowflake selves.

In West L.A. I do not see that any one particular ethnicity has a proclivity for this. Well, actually it's a little biased towards a certain group, but they're from the other side of the planet rather than the south, and I've seen people of every ethnicity doing it.

It's baby boomers.... getting too old to drive safely. Forgetting to turn off their turn signals and mistaking the gas pedal for the brake.

And generation X'ers... still trying to figure out how to answer their smart phones while driving. Poor things are technologically challenged.

Yeah, right. Keeping telling yourself that. We are very tech savvy.

Most millennials have the attention spam of a parakeet. They are usually only good for quick sex as they are devoid of any substance, and since I am taken, even that's out.

You act like this is something new.

It was this way when I moved here in 1988, in fact a college friend who moved out here right before I did said "don't go on the green light, give it a couple of seconds, people here run red lights".
