They draw close to 3 million fans a year. Seems like they would have to pull from outside OC to do that. How do they compete against the Dodgers in LA County?

I thought this is going to be about the Hells Angels. First you guys make yourselves sanctuary, and now you support 1%ers.

The Angels probably pull a few fans from San Diego county, particularly the northern end (i.e. Oceanside). Not sure, but the distance from Oceanside to Anaheim could be about the same as to Petco park in downtown San Diego. Once waaaaaaayyy back in the day, I was in San Diego and bought a newspaper (not sure if it was a San Diego paper, or a San Diego edition of the L. A. Times, but I noticed in the sports, they had the Padres boxscore and the Angels (no Dodgers).

I'm from Orange County and lived in LA for many years. The Angels are very much OC's team. There may be some fans in places like Whittier and Long Beach in LA County, but even then, those towns will generally lean Dodgers from my experience. Keep in mind that there are 3 million people in OC, so there is no shortage of fans to fill the stands. There are also plenty of fans in the inland empire, where you'll see split allegiance between Angels and Dodgers.

Plus when they make it practically free for us in OC to travel to the games via Metrolink...

I refuse to support that team in any way or attend any games there just on the principle of how absurd I think calling a team "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" is. I mean, come on. If you don't want to just call yourselves Anaheim, retcon to the 80's when they were the California Angels.

Screw those guys.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I have always felt so alone in this. Thank you for validating me. Anaheim is in OC, what the heck? I haven't been to a game in, what has it been, 10 yrs? All because of a name change.

I don’t understand the issue with “LA” in the name. It’s in the LA metro area and most of the world knows the whole area as LA including Anaheim. For example, most people outside of CA say they are going to LA when visiting Disneyland.
