Yep, I raced at San Fernando in the Valley and Lions, Orange County, Fontana, Carslbad and others including out of State. Was fun then, now money controls it and if you ain't got it you can't go fast enough.

Currently, the LAPD has approximately 9,000 sworn officers and 3,000 civilian employees. That is one officer for every 433 residents, giving Los Angeles one of the lowest ratios of police officers to residents of any major city in the country.

Not all 9000 officers are on patrol at the same time.

More than 100 people ransacked a Compton bakery early Tuesday morning after a nearby illegal street takeover, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Miguel Meza, a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson, said the thieves had been participating in an illegal street takeover at the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and El Segundo Boulevard, right in front of the bakery.

Street takeovers involve a group of people blocking off an intersection with cars and using the space to do doughnuts and other street-racing maneuvers, Meza said. Compton city officials have vowed to crack down on the illegal gatherings, which have been known to be deadly. They exploded in popularity amid the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns.

Are the donuts 'dangerous' or dangerous?

I think they are both "dangerous" and dangerous.

Five suspects, including one juvenile, have been arrested and charged in connection with the Jan. 2 ransacking of Ruben’s Bakery & Mexican Food, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said at a news conference Tuesday.

Luna said the juvenile, about 13 years old, is the suspected driver of the white Kia Soul that, driving in reverse, slammed three times into the Compton bakery, causing the structural damage that allowed a mob of more than 100 people to enter and steal from the store. The family, uplifted by strong community support, has since reopened their business’ doors.

The juvenile, according to Luna, was arrested Jan. 12 on suspicion of burglary, vandalism, driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent and inciting a riot. He was later cited and released to his family. But later that same day, the sheriff said, the juvenile was arrested again — this time in connection with a robbery in Carson that was caught on a viral video.

The young teen is currently being held in juvenile hall, Luna said.

Do we know if any of the perpetrators have spent any time in jail? Are there prosecutions, or just arrests?

Justice grinds slowly in Los Angeles County. It will be months before any trial

No, but the 13-year-old was caught because of a prior robbery. From the linked article in post #17:

"The juvenile, according to Sheriff Robert Luna, was arrested Jan.

The sheriff said that a deputy walked into a Carson 7-Eleven unaware that a robbery was in progress. He foiled the attempt, which involved multiple people, including juveniles. The incident was captured on surveillance video, which went viral.

“His actions resulted in the arrest of all those individuals,” Luna said of the deputy. “One of the juveniles in that case was the same juvenile who was arrested” in the Ruben’s Bakery incident."
