I've had several issues with my landlord and I am wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction for where I could go to report him?

Secondly, has anyone had experience with reporting a landlord? What should I expect?

TIA.

why not report him/her right here so that we can provide the appropriate scorn and ridicule?

OP, You have not been very specific as to why you feel you need to report your landlord.
Perhaps if you state your reasons, we may be able to steer you in the right direction.
Not knowing what the problem, is, could be why you are getting these moronic answers.

Bob.

I lived in a place where the front door broke into pieces. They did not fix the door so all of my possessions were in danger of being easily stolen because there was no door. I ended up filing a complaint with the BBB, and they let me out of my lease.

It depends where you live. And if your apartment is under rent control, your rent can't be raised arbitrarily.

If it's LA rent control probably HCIDLA or SCEP.
If it's West hollywood or santa monica, the respective city rent control boards
