I know a guy from Palms who takes classes at East LA College (he is white) and has no issues. Your commute probalby wouldn't be fun though, the 710 can be a killer in the morning.

where the skills center is at is relatively empty/safe. its right off the freeway and close to county hospital. close to USC med campus. close to hazard park. you wont have to go far from the center for much, so you should be fine. but make sure to stay away from big bad hazard and ramona gardens. you'll be fine.

That and the thousands of big rigs coming up from the ports.

i would worry more about being in a big rig pile up, or some other auto accident on your commute, than being harmed by gangs. be careful merging around the rigs, there are a lot of accidents on the 710 because of them.

everyone is right. the 710 is notorious for being the deadliest big rig freeway. especially the 5 N connector into the east los interchange. pretty scary.

i didn't mean "killer" literally, just that it can get jammed up because of traffic to downtown and pasadena.
