there's a mobil station at the northeast corner of la cienega and beverly that has always charged at least a quarter more per gallon than anyplace else. (high rent, i guess. why anyone buys gas there, i have no idea.) not surprisingly, that was the first place i saw where regular hit $4/gallon. that was a few weeks ago. it's probably over $4.30 by now!

It's still below $3 at most places here in NJ.

But then again, the trade-off is that you'd have to live in New Jersey.

I'd rather pay more for gas.

i posted this on the general california forum.
as of two days ago:
truckee - $3.95 for regular!!!
santa cruz - $3.85 for reqular.
and can anyone tell me why in the middle of the state of nevada, a gallon of gas (just drove through a few days ago) is less expensive than it is in santa cruz (for example)?
these gas prices are making me mad! what's going on?
this is outrageous.
how can ordinary working people even afford to get to their jobs especially when the commute is a long one?
to what extent are the oil companies manipulating these prices and why is their not a revolt if they are?
i'm ignorant when it comes to big business, economy, etc., but this just seems wrong especially when exxon, etc. had their biggest profits last year.

does new jersey still have that law prohibiting self-serve gas stations? i never understood the rationale for that. those gas pump jockeys must have one hell of a lobby in trenton!
