Hello,
I am considering a job in the LA area and they may ask me to relocate to LA after COVID19 starts to die down.
In the past I would have jumped at the opportunity, but now Im not sure.
So let me ask the residents who live in LA if its still worth it with High rates of COVID19, wildfires, homelessness everywhere and Increasing tax rates in CA particulary LA.

Thanks.

I'd say yes... assuming that (1) your job is sufficiently remunerative, and (2) the city's amenities do, in fact, recover from the anti-rona measures.

IF, your job pays $200,000.00 or more. Then you can buy or rent in a nice area and go to safe places for pleasure.

This isn't the forum for optimism.

I'd go to Reddit, and then the LA subreddit. People are a lot more realistic and a lot less "crotchety" (to put it nicely) there!

COVID spread is super high all across the US, LA or not. The reason why LA looks so bad is because it has 10 million people in the county. Of course the numbers are going to look super high vs some more rural county. Its more important to look at the per capita rate, which again is very high, but so is the rest of the US.

Other issues you've highlighted are either related to being in a big city (homelessness), state requirements (taxes) or climate change (wildfire).

And it doesn't help that we're over-developed. For years our leaders have been supporting stack & pack housing and telling us we need to get out of our cars and cram into public transportation. Well now, that was some fine planning for a city that's a hub for international travel...gee whiz...who could have foreseen this new concept of "germs"...
