Hi folks,
I'll be visiting LA from Seattle for spring break and love Griffith Observatory and want to see a planetarium show this time around. From the website it looks like GO is only open Fri-Sun these days and for planetarium shows you have to buy them in person. This seems like it will be tough as there must be a long line when they open up at noon (for Friday) and probably sell out fast (we're interested most in Centered in the Universe)? Couldn't find anything online when I googled it and no videos on YouTube with tips on this. Thanks!

This is a potential issue for you, however its doable. Plan to drive all the way up to the observatory, drop off an adult to get in line before you park (normally if its busy you'll have to park down observatory road a bit). While that person is waiting, and/or you're waiting for your show time, you can spend time in the museum(free), taking pictures, whatever. In other words - buy tickets as soon as your arrive, and there is plenty to do to kill time before your showtime.

"Centered in the Universe" is absolutely amazing -- but you don't really have to worry. In my experience the shows don't sell out, and there are a lot of them. You won't have a problem getting tickets if you want to see it.

I'd like to commend the OP for having an interest in a planetarium show, rather than the "laserium" thing or whatever it's called, which has nothing to do with actual astronomy.
