We-ll, could we do a sitcom about those in the adult film industry? Isn't that the story of why they turned to that industry because LA is such an expensive place (as one PMOY said why she left LA, about the cost of living--not that industry) to live? Mom and Dad were part of it in the 90s, warned the kids away from it, but the kids, a brother and sister, have been blinded by the bright lights and join up. Of course, sister at least will only have a year or two on the show for one way or the other, women don't stay long there. Don't know about the men, these days, since they are usually faceless anyhow. That could be a nice twist to the story, having the faceless brother week after week.

Now, in one world, the righteous right would shoot down such a show before it got on the air but seeing how we have shows like The Kardasians and SVU.....who knows!

HOWEVER, does it really matter if it is realistic or not? That was one of the things about "Friends" in that they lived in a very expensive place and weren't working like dogs, that it seemed like they had a lot of free time.

Face it that one way or another......sitcoms are a fantasy.

These are just a few examples.
Perhaps a middle class lifestyle is still portrayable but I doubt it.
I don't know. You tell me.
The Back to the Future films were filmed partly in Greater LA (and partly in various other California locations) but the films were set in the Sierra Nevada foothills of northern California.

Do people not understand the difference between setting and film location?
