Hello. I need help finding my forever home. I'm a 44 yo black single black guy without kids. I've been moving around exploring all over; I'm trying to determine where I want to settle down and buy a home. I want it to be a place with an abundance of beautiful woman, culture, no limit poker, and open places to ride a motorcycle. I prefer extreme cold over extreme heat.

I've lived in DC but it's too serious there and I've explored all the roads; I lived in Dallas, but it gets too hot; I'm currently in Minneapolis but it's not very diverse and I'm just not feeling it. I wish there was a city like NY or LA in the center of the US--like a LA or NY where Denver is. I considered Denver but heard the air is crappy, housing expensive, and not that diverse.

Right now, I'm considering Chicago or SoCal. It's time for me to buy a house. In this, Chicago has a leg up because it's more affordable. What are the closest cities to LA where I can get a house for $400,00 and find single woman and the other things I seek?

Thanks in advance.

Please don't move to Hemet. (Also, it's not in L.A. County.) It's really gone downhill.

Fairly recent thread on it here: https://www.city-data.com/forum/san-...et-moment.html

Better, although also in San Bernardino County.

LOL - i'm aware of both, but satisfying the above while being in "socal" and "closest to LA" under 400k, it was my best attempt.

I could be wrong, doesn’t under 400K near LA give you gangs and graffiti?

Well that would give him diversity.

Honestly the northern suburbs of Atlanta might fit the bill except I can’t say about the women. Lots of country roads for bikes herein the mountains. Good home in good neighborhoods for mid 400k. Pretty diverse here.

OP, you probably would need at least 2x the budget (and likely more) to find a safe and suitable place. LA and Southern California are desirable places to live and are very expensive.

Vegas gets too hot and Salt lake city/Utah is not diverse. Yeah LA is probably out of my price range. Thoughts on Palmdale?
