Is it me or are there a lot of people who post on the various city forums who live vicariously through these forums? Nothing wrong with dreaming don't get me wrong. I'm talking about say two 19 year olds who will post something like "me and my friend want to be actors, where is the best place to live?".

I'm sure at some point one would have gathered enough knowledge from the media, various other sites or reading the countless posts here to at least have an idea what their options are.

What would there options be? Where could a middle-class 19-year-old possibly live in Los Angeles?

I visit a lot of forums on LA and travel and have to say that CD is the most useful and it's posters, positive and negative, bring a lot of local knowledge.

So, I don't think it's wrong for questions being posted like the example in your post. What I find annoying is how many of them are posted. I wish there was an effective way to bucket "moving to LA," "chasing my dream," "should I or shouldn't I" posts.

They are 19 years old.
They have a dream.

Maybe they will succed, maybe not.
There is plenty of time for reality to hit them....

At least let them dream and do research...

That's easy. Just like any other college student or similar-age young person, they can wait tables and have roommates in apartments. It really is very doable.
