I was cruising down interstate five getting off on El Toro Road heading east about 6 miles and just past Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park was a real neat cowboy biker bar called Cooks Corner. After talking to some of the bikers, one of them told me of a place called Holy Jim Canyon. Just down the road (live Oak Canyon Road)past O Niel Park where a stream crosses the road there is a dirt road (going east)that leads to Holy Jim the place that time forgot (about 4 miles or so) Theres a bunch of primitive cabins built in the early 1900s. I was really impressed.

Default Really cool Man!!

Yes it is cool I mean literaly cool-a cool box canyon with a cool pristine stream that crosses the road about 7 times. The road is a little rough and almost resembles a creek bed in some places, but after around 4 miles you will see (gotta look close)abandoned mine shafts from the 1800s along side of the road, theres even an abondoned tin mine out there. After going around 4 to 5 miles you will notice little cabins throughout-be carefull and drive slow because some are occupied and some are not. The road itself used to be an off roaders wet dream. If you like the past, you will love this place
