So what does everyone think of Pasadena for a family of four with biracial children? We want to spend between 1500-1700 on rent. Diverse? Schools decent? Commute okay to studios in West Hollywood and Silverlake?

Thanks for your help!

Pasadena is great. Lots of biracial families here. But for a family of four, you may be paying more than $1500-1700 for rent, unless you don't need much room. There are apartments for that amount in Pasadena, but you have to search really hard. Also, try applying for low-to-moderate income apartments. They fill up pretty quickly, though because they're in nice neighborhoods with people of higher incomes. It's good to apply for apartments that are newly built, before they start to fill up. But Pasadena is a great place to live. Hope you enjoy it when you get here. Best of luck.

As far as schools go, try a charter school. The public schools here are not that great, unless they're in South Pasadena. But that's just my opinion and my experience. Ask a few more people.

Pasadena is a great place for families, no prob in the diversity department either. I loved living there and would again in a heartbeat. Ditto the poster above on pretty much everything.
