Could someone give me a couple cross streets of the major downtown city area of Los Angeles. I wanted to look it up on the birds eye view maps.

I looked up the address of the Capitol Records building - as I remember that building (and the city hall) from when I was a kid. That is Hollywood and Vine. And could you tell me a couple of the tallest buildings in the downtown area?

Thanks.

Broadway and 8th is my favorite. It's right down the street from Clifton's. You've been to Clifton's, if I recall correctly.

U.S. Bank Tower, 73 floors and 1018' 633 West Fifth
AON Center, 62 floors and 858' 707 Wilshire

Thanks guys. I did a little searching late last night and read about the tallest buildings in LA. The US Bank building is great. I didn't really remember the actual downtown area - we went there so seldom. But I wanted to pin point it on the map since LA takes up such a huge area and has changed so much since I left in 1966. I have never really been a city person - I prefer the suburbs and less congestion - but you guys have that even in the suburbs - ha ha. Last time I was out there, we stayed in Culver City and explored the Santa Monica area a couple days and then went to Anaheim (where I grew up). I sure wish I could make a trip out there but have obligations that keep me from being gone more than one day - so I have to enjoy it from the computer. Thank God for the internet - years ago we could not have done this.

and the Bullocks (spelling) dept store used to be on the corner or was it 7th and Broadsay? I remember getting off the streetcar or eventually the bus at 4th and Broadway to go shopping at the Broadway, from there we would work our way to Bullocks. We rarely shopped at May Co, don't ask me why?

About 1/2 way through the day we would stop for lunch at either the Forum cafeteria or Cliftons. I am talking about in my high school days..
