Has anyone ever dialed 311 in Los Angeles to get the city to clean up graffiti, pick up a couch left in front of a house, pick up a christmas tree from a neighbor that wasn't disposed of properly (oh wait, I might have been speaking from experience on that last one)?

I'm curious to know how quickly the city responded and if they actually did what you asked them to do. Good stories and nightmares welcome.

311 is only operational for limited hours, and response has been pitiful.

Another reason not to live within L.A. city limits.

I call 311 sometimes (3-4 times a year). Picking up curbside items always seem to happen within a week. Graffiti can be hit or miss on speed. It used to always get taken care of within 72 hours of calling (used to be their policy, I think), but lately it takes a few phone calls to get things taken care of.

Website is decent enough.

Unfortunately I've had to call 3-1-1 quite a bit.

For Graffiti I use the online site if you google graffiti removal la it comes up. They have pretty good.

But 3-1-1 I don't like the limited hours. They only seem to be open like 8-4:30 or 5 ,during work hours which makes it a bit difficult.

Services just seem to have gone downhill the past couple years.

Hopefully something can be done to improve efficiencies.

I've had to call a lot for illegal items dumped behind my house. I wish they could put a camera in the alley and catch them it's happened so much. Very annoying.

majoun, I agree living in city of L.A is pretty bad when it comes to services. I don't feel we get what we pay for.
