So much for the city being as safe as it was in 1960

1. This happens everywhere

2. I'm not surprised by the area

3. America allows guns so this is no surprise.

4. No city is safe. Most cities do have higher crime rates.

5. I don't know if I should go to CPK or stay in and cook something healthy?

i'd say stay in and cook, CPK is overrated and expensive for what you get.

Stay in and cook something healthy... you'll thank me later. Also, I agree with points 1-4.

ah yes at every opportunity, whenever there is a crime OP, the inevitable anti gun post, "w/o guns the world would be safe place". of course 38% of homocides do not involve firearms whatsoever, but never mind.

Yes sadly it's a wild world out there.

Top 50 Live Public Safety Scanner Audio Feeds

Not even sure how they keep up in some places.

(I used to be on rescue and still like listening to scanners.)

That was in Lawndale, not in Los Angeles. Different cities, different police departments.

Certainly wasn't a random killing. There's more to this yet to unfold.

To the OP: What's with the "broad daylight"? It was an inside killing. Would it have made a difference if it happened in the dark of night?

Yes, indoors during the day time isn't exactly "broad daylight" now is it? By the way, I too have a feeling there's MUCH more to this story.

I'm not blaming the victim, but this past summer I a friend of mine was killed as he was walking from the store with some friends. His mother was on the news wailing and crying about how he was such a sweet boy and was involved in any gang activity and so fourth. Yet, I know for a fact he was a blood and several times he'd even gotten in my car "strapped" without my knowledge.
