They're gonna get just about none of the money back.
What a stupid thing to even attempt. They just look like idiots.
Unless they have evidence of fraud, it's just plain stupid.

It sounds like they are trying to get back money that was payed improperly or as a result of fraud . They are not going after everybody that received aid . Don't freak out , people .

That's gonna be just as hard. Almost everyone in EBR was wrongfully paid.

Agreed. Don't freak out. Read the story...

"But that allowed thousands of improper and fraudulent payments. FEMA employees awarded money without interviewing applicants or inspecting property and made errors that ranged from recording incorrect banking information to failing to check whether insurance had already covered damage, according to congressional testimony."

If they didn't have the authority under 44 CFR or whatever guidance they have for distributing funds, then they didn't "legally give" the money.
