It's going to be called Oak Crossing, it will be built at the corner of Nelson Road and Ham Reid Road. The park currently under construction, however, according to an email I got from someone involved in the project, they are negotiating with several restaurants, medical offices, and retail shops. The park will be about 20 acres as far as I know. I'm a little curious as to what kind of restaurants would be there because it does not look like a large area.

Oak Crossing - A Business Park Development

Anyone care to try and guess with me?

As far as I know yes, I have not heard of any other stores like this in the area so far. I'd like to see Coffee Beanery coffee shop to re-open in one of those spots.

Sounds like a wonderful development for Lake Charles, LA, look forward to seeing it next time I am in the city on my way to L'Auberge.

Looks like it's coming up really well, I'll have to get some pics on my phone. I'd love to see a coffee and beinget place open up in there. I only hope that this will promote more mixed use development in the area. This was something that was supposed to be build in LC, but that project is on hold and the original developer sold the land. I only hope they give it a shot somewhere else in the city, b/c it could be bigger and better than what it would have been in it's original proposed spot.

Hopefully so, as many places downtown could use the redevelopment and investment. I had no idea that project was dead, really sad to hear. Hopefully something surfaces this year.

The dead project is on the south end of the city outside of the city limits, to me it wasnt a good spot anyway bc lake charles has plenty of land that Southridge would be better off on.
But back to the retail park. I really want to get some pics, it could be the beginning.
