There has not been much talk about this TND in the lake area. It's currently under construction, Between West Sallier Road and the Contraband Bayou. There are a few homes being built right now, and the lawton building is currently under construction. The lawton is three stories, will include a post office along with space for commercial use. The area will be mixed use, have several parks, one of which will be a courtyard filled with native plants. Site indicates that there will be a variety of architecture used in this neighborhood. I wonder what kind of shops we can expect to see? Anyone care to discuss?

I really wish these new TNDs would include affordable homes starting around $150k. I know that's alot to ask for though.

Agreed. They should include cheaper housing and I believe some start off w/ that initial plan but then it once the retail and commercial come up they realize the value that it adds to a home thus the prices getting raised. I hope that WG takes that approach and includes some homes that aren't as costly.

It's just the one's here are all upscale with prices starting near $300k. It's not really mixed income when everyone is in a higher tax bracket.

Having lived in Houston for the last decade, I've seen first hand why entry level price points are set that that high.

It's the ugly truth in development steering and manipulation.
