I'm interested in purchasing some property in West Monroe La. across from D'Arbonne National Refudge off Hwy 143. My question is does this area have seasonal flooding, I understand D'Arbonne has seasonal flooding due to it being a river basin for the Ouachita River, any reply's and information would be appreciated.

I own a home on Lake D'Arbonne. It does flood, but not every year. Generally the homes aren't built directly on the water and the ones that are may have different elevation. Its carefully planned. Recently, there have been concerns about flooding and some sandbagging going on. Some people's yards are flooded. Now. However these are only certain areas.

I know there have been some really bad flooding every decade or so.

Well, you're on the lake or not? I would not worry about flooding if you're not on the lake.

Edit: saw this in today's newsstar: http://www.thenewsstar.com/article/2...WS01/905230334

I would be more concerned about the air pollution (stink) in West Monroe.
