This will be my first New Years in KY. I haven't had the best of luck making friends here due to being shy and looking for work and a decent church for my first six months here. I do NOT want to be stuck at home on New Years Eve. So I want to find something worthwhile to do in the Ville or even closeby to Ft. Knox.

I usually go to a church service or kick it with my friends when I lived in VA on New Year's. I've looked at Evangel's service and it seems interesting. Does anyone have any other ideas for a New Year's thing where I can meet folks and have fun?

One thing: I'm not much of a drinker. One glass is OK, but keep in mind I have a 50 minute plus drive to make back to Vine Grove and have to work the next day.

Check out Leo or Velocity? I would also consider meeting likemided folks on "dating" websites like pof.com, louisvillemojo.com, meetup.com, etc.

I still think you should check into Sojourn.

Boy, I am so glad I'm not still in the dating scene! Reading posts like this are like a bad flashback. All I can say is that you are on the right track, imo. I wasn't a big party-boy drinker either, which limits the quantity of our options. On the other hand, it improves the quality!

Hang in there.

I think I'm gonna go to 4th St live. I'm still a shy guy but I figure if nothing else it's a good opportunity for some photo shots of the Louisville nightlife.

I wouldn't say that is "typical" Louisville nightlife, but may be the biggest party. In fact many of the people at 4SL will be from the exurbs, like yourself, and probably a lot of people from regional cities, especially Lexington because of the game today. There are some bars/coffee shops where it is much easier to meet people IMO, and when it comes to bar "strips" there are least 2 other heavily loaded ones with at least a couple more minor bar strips. Are you gay or straight? What is the age range you look for? PM me if you like.

Well, I decided to go to 4th St Live after my other plan didn't pan out. It was definitely packed with 20-somethings. Saw a lot of KY plates from other outlying plates. I had a good time when you leave out getting drenched on the way back to the garage at 5th and Chestnut to get my car and waiting half an hour for a $3 cup of beer.

As to my criteria. I'm a straight 20-something. I'd prefer early to mid 20s people, more importantly SINGLE early to mid 20s. Seems like everyone under 25 in the Ft. Knox area is a part of a married couple with kids.
