Late last night, I posted on craigslist that I had a used Christmas tree (in good shape) and some Christmas decorations that I would give to a needy family for free. I figured with the economy, not to mention the flood damage in August, someone could definitely use them.

Within just a few hours, I received 60 emails. I was overwhelmed. It was very difficult to choose a family and I finally just picked one. There were families with 3 and 4 children and couples who have lost everything---jobs, their belongings in the flood, etc. There were only a couple of emails that said they wanted to add to what they already add (not really in need). I had to hurry up and post on the site that the items were gone.

The mother I chose came right over this evening to pick up the items. She was so excited.

If you have any excess Christmas decorations, please offer them on Craigslist or ask someone at your work or church if there is anyone in need of them. You won't be sorry you did.

Wow, what a great idea! I have a 15 foot articifical tree that's been sitting in a box in my garage for three years now. I have no intention of ever hassling with it again. Out it goes to a good home!
