Moving to Louisville and Need help (Paducah, Bardstown: rent, best schools, price)

I am possibly moving to Louisville for a job at Drury Suites. I have 2 small children, so I am looking for somewhere that is good to raise kids. Maybe in the country. I am also looking for something that is not too expensive with 3 bedrooms. Thank you. Also, if you could tell me what the average rent is there that would be great. I am moving from Paducah, KY

If you don't mind a 20 min drive each way oldham co has the best schools in the state.Look at lagrange and crestwood both are in oldham co and are small cities.

I agree. Kepp those kiddos out of the Jefferson county School System

I actually grew up in Simpsonville (Shelby County). It's a nice little country town. I say little but it is rapidly growing. If you enjoy the feel of a horse farm community then Shelbyville is the place to be! It is also the saddle bred ('show horses') capital of the world. They just recently built a second high school, Collins, which is an amazing place! I highly suggest that area and it is reasonably priced. The greatest part about it is that it links up to I-64 highway which recently extended to 3 lanes instead of 2 so the flow of traffic to downtown is pretty smooth. I drive from Simpsonville to Bardstown rd/Watterson expressway area every day and it only takes me about 25 minutes.
