Pretty cool idea! This would be in a current brownfield just west of the 9th Street / I-64 exit. Near the River Walk. Could be 4 to 8 stories tall. At this point it's in the planning phase, but I think it would seem a pretty good bet to actually happen, unlike Mausoleum Plaza

Looking for continuing good things to happen on the riverfront but I feel this is too,,,'me too'.

Have we no local and unique perspective on how to say who Louisville is. Ferris wheels have become like AQUARIA; there are enough of them. When cities like Atlanta have an aquarium and they are no where near water then I think we know, enough is enough. Why not more Eiffel Towers? Well, we almost did that too. Space Needle etc.

Surely there are minds that can come up with something that is uniquely Louisville. I would be very tired of hearing; "oh yeah, like the one in England".

It could just be me, but I think the human condition possesses more creativity than we are exhibiting lately. It may be a cultural off shoot of the whole 'ME TOO' media/reality tv influence on our culture. What is left of it. lol

This sounds like another fountain in the river project! There will be much hoopla about it upfront and once it is completed it will fade away and die.

I do like the fountain in the river. With a great design. The fountain jets on the river's edge in Chattanooga is really nice.

As long as we're talking ferris wheels in Louisville, what ever happened to the big one that was in Kentucky Kingdom once it went kaput. Did they haul it off? Leave it? My boys loved riding that one when they were youngsters and I was just curious.

I hear it is in another amusement park. I also hear that they are bringing it back as a new Ferris wheel they will build. The group that is reopening KY Kingdom...I am not sure if they are good business people or not, but that man (Ed Hart) really knows how to open a good park. Expect him to add a new big time ride every summer for the next 10 years unless people just do not show up to the park for some reason. Expect the KY Kingdom of its 1990s heyday, before the corporate number crunchers at Six Flags destroyed it.
