So, since I've been doing some research on Louisville, I've seen a few posters recommend louisville mojo as a good place to find activities and network with people. Of course, I know that "networking" can lead to other things if people happen to connect, but I'm really weirded out by the fact that not even 5 minutes after I registered for the site, I as bombarded by people sending me pervy introductions like, "do you shave your p*ssy"... I attempted to report them but when I actually click on the link (sent to my email) it doesn't show up in the "hotbox" email account that is on the site. According to the admins they need proof by sending them the hotbox email. Not sure if I can just forward them the email directly from my personal email, but I will check into that. Also, aside from that it seems to be the same regular group a people that frequent the site and it seems very cliquish. I don't know maybe I'm judging to quickly. I just get a weird vibe from that site.

My question is has anyone had any overall good experiences or success in using that site to meet new people and find activities?

Being single, I can definitely understand the desire and/or need to meet someone but to get random sexually suggestive emails like that from strangers really made me second guess the suggestion that it was a good place networking and finding friends. Now, if I was looking for an fwb and my p*ssy was shaved or unshaved depending on the wierdo's preferences, I would have no problem getting that.

Oh, yeah one other question: From experience, can anyone recommend any meetup.com groups in the Louisville area for business professionals, single mother professionals, single parents, etc?

At one time I was the admin for the cincinnatimojo website which was also owned by metromojo but because the site did not catch on it went offline in 2009 along with many others. Only Louisville and Indy remain. I did not put up with that kind of crap on cincymojo. There should be a "report abuse" link in all messages that will notify the admin and mods in a special section that only they have access to. You can also click "blacklist 'em" to block them from messaging you again.

The main guy who runs the site is Chuck, or contact David Silverblatt, there may also be a listing of the mods on the forum main page but because they do change the site a lot and since it has been 5 years since I had any dealings with metromojo that may not be the case now.

The goth couple one named "vixyn" that competed on the Amazing Race were members of louisvillemojo.

According to this article the site was bought about a year ago with plans to transform it into a social network. Sounds like that hasn't happened.

I was on it when it first began and only a couple hundred folks. It got up to over 2000 or more people when it shut down. But when I was on it, it wasn't just a date site but more of a social networking site where events took place outside in the real world. It was a great time and events they had. Also, I know Chuck. I don't know what it is now or become, but I would report it like someone suggested.
