I'm not from the area. Could someone give me a link of point me in a direction for appartments near UofL (where im going) but also not too expensive. If anyone can tell me anything it will help me a lot, like where not to go look?

Thank you guys so much if you answer!

Smile apartments

One good website is OldLouisville.com it has apartment listings link on the site. An apartment in old louisville would be within walking distance of the Belknap campus, I am assuming this is where all your classes will be, which it true unless you are in dental and medical school. Also check out the local paper: the courier-Journal for apartment listings

I would also check craigslist listings for "Old Louisville" or "campus" or "downtown". I personally thing craigslist is the best bet to find stuff.

rstevih is right on point. Old Louisville is the first place I will look when i actually move. Downtown Louisville is also a nice option albeit a little expensive. One key to Louisville (from what i've been told) is to stay away from the area West of 9th Street and North of I-264.

To make that more clear, the area bounded by the river on the west, I-264 on the SW, and 9th street on the east is not the nicest, but there ARE some ok areas here and there in that region. The nicest part of Old Louisville is the area bounded by UofL on the south, 6th street on the west, Hill street on the north, and 1st street on the east. The heart of this area is St James Court and Belgravia Court (a really cool historic court where the houses face each other but there is no street in between, but rather gardens and a pedestrian boulevard. Louisville is famous for having many pedestrian streets like this). Check this area out on google street view and then look for apartments there on craigslist.
