I can find NOTHING on a Google search, and would love nothing more to have a picture of the place to validate what I know to be the truth. Can anyone help me out here?
Vito's Villa was originally a location for The Ground Round, a chain of restaurants owned by Howard Johnson's. This opened in the early to mid 1980's.

Romar Gleeson used to be on Main Street downtown. I bought my first cassette recorder there back in...when...1972 or 1973?

CSC, AKA "Consolidated", was from Ohio. THey had two locations...in Valley Station/PRP and off Preston. This was a good place to get a cheap suit.
Consolidated had several other locations around Louisville.

Breckenridge Lane and Dutchmans Lane - now a PepBoys auto parts store

The old Shelbyville Road Plaza - located in the curve of the L-shaped building

I think for a short time they were in the building on Outer Loop where the Peddlers Mall is now. I believe Roses was in that same building for a while also.

Waaay back as a kid I remember going to a store that seems like was at the corner of Shelbyville Rd and Breckenridge Lane. I'm thinking that may have also been a Consolidated. Not real sure about that 'cause it was about 50 years ago. I do remember it was an old building that had wooden floors and a big toy department.

Did anyone ever mention Levy's Lumber or the biggs store?

Default Shopper's Mart?

I recently spent my last week of vacation this year sick as a dog. While bedbound, I started posting pics of old stores on my Facebook page and asking my friends to remember the locations. Here are a few we came up with: Topps, Arlen's, Ayreway, Almart, TG&Y, Roses, Woolco, Consolidated, Britts, GES, Pace, and Grants. Does anyone remember a place called Shopper's Mart? It was on the order of a Peddler's Mall, only not as junky. My stepdad was a metal artist and had a booth there. For the life of me, I can't remember where it was!
