I will be driving westbound on I64 on Saturday through Louisville. Are the highways free of construction? Thanks

There might be some construction between Frankfort and Louisville, but I think it's mostly eastbound. Where are you coming from?

Thanks for your input. I will be driving I64 straight across KY, westbound.

You'll hit construction around the I 64 and Gene Snyder intersection. They are doing some widening projects on 64 between L'ville and Shelbyville. If you come through at rush hour, you may encounter delays in this area. The widening ends once you hit the six lanes around the Blankenbaker Rd exit.

I would ultimately like to see I-64 widened to:
  • Eight lanes from Spaghetti Junction, through Cochran Hill, to Gene Snyder Freeway.
  • Six lanes entirely from Gene Snyder Freeway to Lexington (merge with I-75).
  • Six lanes entirely from Lexington (split from I-75) to Mt. Sterling.
That will take an eternity to happen, though, if ever it does.

By the way, I actually like 8664, although there are enough suburban naysayers who have b*tched and moaned that it probably won't ever happen. I would LOVE to see I-64 eliminated from 22nd St. to Spaghetti Junction and an expanded River Road and Waterfront Park put in its place.
