Economic Development History of Interstate 16 in Georgia - Assistance - Economic Development - Planning - FHWA

The Fall Line Freeway will be completed around 2014. Running through West GA, Middle GA and the CSRA. In ten years do you see I-14 equaling or surpassing I-16 average daily traffic?

All they doing is adding two extra lanes on the routes between the interstates. This project could have been done in the 1990's while these 2nd tier were on the rise and while Atlanta city population was declining.

2 things:

1.)Are you guys talking about a 4-lane divided highway, or an actual limited access highway? They are already doing the former to my knowledge. This would make sense since I see people saying 2014 as a completion date. (It would take WAY longer for limited access)
2.)Where is an article stating this is getting off the ground? One for the limited access interstate, not the 4-lane highway. I can't find one anywhere!

Nope. No port traffic.

While the project links a lot of Georgia’s smaller cities, the key interest is likely the Macon to Columbus to Montgomery part. This would link the newly expanded Port of Savannah to all points west, without truck traffic having to drive through Atlanta to meet I-20. Consider this another leg in the move to keep Georgia the logistics center of the Southeast.

No, the distribution centers are towards Atlanta. I-14 would serve no role there.

On that note, please provide a link showing that I-14 has been approved & funded. I haven't seen one.

The fall line trace has already open in columbus,so I would say 1-14 is already off ground.
